Hanging out

I spent a bit of time this afternoon with this cuttie while her mom had a hair appointment.

Sunflowers

I was a week or so late taking these pictures. The sunflowers look to be a bit passed their photography prime, but I guess you take what you can get.

I really wish I would have had a macro lens for this!

Sunflower Festival

Altona's summer festival is known as the Sunflower festival. In the 3 years that I have lived here, this is the first time I've been able to make it.  We were able to watch the parade with some friends and take in a few of the other things to see.

The Lake 2012

I finally have gone through my pictures from my week at the lake. There are far more than one each day and may not even be one from everyday, but these are the highlights.

The sky from the dock when I arrived after a very long, uneventful drive.

Enjoying lots of dock time in the sun. I managed not to get too burnt!

Playing in the sand.

Crockett got a bit competitive!

The MS Kenora docked in town.

The float plane landing near the Harbour Front

This was a sure sign we were almost to the cottage growing up.

Going for a boat ride.

Our island.

The spider that kept Ayns and I company by the back door. She never bothered us, so we didn't bother her.

Having out guests sign the guest book

I love my suction sup glass markers!

This little guy was quite the acrobat, hanging from his tail to get something.

Group photo from our 80's/ surprise bachelorette party.

Ayns just couldn't leave her technology at home!

The lovely sky as the evening approached

Driving through Kenora on our way home we came across two does and two fawns hanging out.

The week was sunny and hot, filled with great laughs with friends and family. Couldn't have asked for anything better!

More Food!

It's so hot outside that I'm not motivated to go out so today involved more food!

As much as I would have loved this to be ice cream it was another batch of cookies for the lake.

The veggie  portion of my supper. Added to some chicken and a piece of fresh bread!

I'm headed of to the lake tomorrow so there's a good chance there won't be a post for a few days.

DIY Day

This week has been a pintrest filled week and today was the day to try out some of them.

I found some new cookie recipes that I wanted to try so I could take them along to the lake next week. First up, No Bake Vanilla Oatmeal Cookies. (Recipe from http://auntpegsrecipebox.blogspot.ca/)

The final product tasted good. Pretty much a different twist on hay stacks or fiddle diddles as I've heard them called.

This one wasn't pintrest inspired but still a DYI. I bought a black dress while in New York and wanted to spice it up a bit. This polka dotted fabric from MCC will make the perfect little belt.

I have a lot of scarves and I almost forget what they all look like so I found this and loved it. Very simple to do, shower curtain hangers on a hanger with scarves looped through. Hopefully this means that I can wear each one of them this winter!

More cookies to come tomorrow!

Let's give this a try.

So here we go. I was challenged quite some time ago to start talking photos everyday and post them to a blog. I've finally accepted the challenge... well for the summer at least.

I am committing to taking at least one pictures everyday for the rest of my summer holidays and posting them here (we'll see what happens once school starts!). I will not promise that they will get posted everyday, but I'll try my best to post soon after they are taken.

Today's picture is not that exciting, but I've been passing this corn field the past few days and have been meaning to stop and take some pictures.

It's a start and we'll see where we go from here.
